Athletics

Children in grades 5 - 8 have the opportunity to participate in intra-mural league play in both volleyball and basketball.  The teams are separated by grade whenever possible, and are also separated by gender.  All students who decide to represent St. Peter the Apostle must be academically  eligible, sign a code of ethics statement, and have a current sports physical from their physician.

Directions to Gyms

St. Charles Borromeo - Bensenville

Irving Park Road East to York Road.  Right (south) on York to Grand Avenue.  Turn left (east) on Grand approximately 2 blocks to school on left side.  Parking is in rear of school.

Christ the King - Lombard

355 South to Roosevelt Road exit.  East (left) on Roosevelt to Main Street. Turn right (south) on Main.  Follow Main to stoplight past church and school.  Take a left and follow around to enter from back. 

Driscoll Catholic High School - Addison

South on Rohlwing Road to Lake Street.  Turn left (east) on Lake to Lombard Road. Turn right (south) on Lombard and follow 1/2 mile to Holtz Avenue (stop sign).  Go 1 block further on Lombard to Driscoll High entrance.

Holy Ghost - Wood Dale

Irving Park Road east to Wood Dale Road.  Right (south) on Wood Dale approximately one block.  Holy Ghost in on the right, just past the post office.

St. Hubert - Hoffman Estates

53 North to Higgins Road exit.  Higgins west to Roselle Road.  Take a left on Roselle Road.  The first stop light is Bode Road, at the 3rd street past Bode turn right (west) @ Illinois.  Head west on Illinois for about 1/2 mile, past Evanston.  The next right (pass a baseball diamond) is the entrance to the St. Hubert parking area.  It is the 2^nd right you can make after turning onto Illinois Avenue.  Entrance to the gym will be at the double doors at the southeast wing connecting the junior high classrooms to the multi purpose facility. No other entrance should be used.  Doors are marked “11”. 

St. Isidore - Bloomingdale

Army Trail Road west to Gary Avenue.  Right (south) on Gary to entrance of St. Isidore.  Gym is located on the corner of Gary and Army Trail.

St. John Evangelist- Canton Middle School facility - Streamwood

Elgin-O’Hare expressway west to Irving Park Road exit.  Right (west) on Irving Park to Barrington Road.  Right (north) on Barrington Road to Schaumburg Road.  Left (west) on Schaumburg to East Avenue.  Left (south) on East, pass school on your right, to Sunset.  Right (west) on Sunset to school parking lot.

 St. John Vianney - Northlake

290 East to the Lake Street/North Avenue exit (#13A) stay left at the bottom of ramp to North Avenue.  Follow North Avenue eastbound to Wolf Road (McDonalds on the southeast corner).  Left (north) on Wolf and St. John Vianney is on the left.

St. Joseph of Addison - Indian Trail School facility

Irving Park east to Addison Road.  Right (south) on Addison to Lake Street.  Right (west) on Lake to first traffic signal.  Left at signal.  Library is on the left and Indian Trail School is on the right.  The gym is in the back of the school.

St. Joseph of Downers Grove

I-355 to Ogden East about three miles to Main Street.  Go south (right) for about 1 mile.  Church is on the left side.  Park in Church lot.  Gym entrance is on Highland Avenue on opposite side of the school. 

St. Matthew - Glendale Heights

Route 355 South to Army Trail Road.  Right (west) on Army Trail to Glen Ellyn Road. (Shell Gas Station).  Turn left (south) on Glen Ellyn Road for two traffic lights to Fullerton Avenue.  School is one block south on the left side of the street.

St. Peter - Peacock Jr. High facility - Itasca 

53 to the Thorndale Road exit.  Take  Thorndale east to Arlington Heights Road.  Go right (south) on Arlington Heights Road to North Street.  Take a right (west) on North and go past St. Peter and Peacock is two blocks further on your right.  Parking is behind the school.

St. Philip - Addison

South on Rohlwing Road to Lake Street.  Left (east) on Lake Street to Lombard Road.  Right (south) on Lombard approximately 1/2 mile to Holtz Avenue (stop sign).  Left on Holtz Avenue two blocks to St. Philip on the right.

Queen of the Rosary - Elk Grove

Arlington Heights Road north to Elk Grove Boulevard.  (Elk Grove High School on the corner).  Turn right (east) on Elk Grove Boulevard and follow 3 blocks to school.  690 Elk Grove Boulevard.

St. Walter School - Roselle

Irving Park Road west to Roselle train station area.  Take a left turn before McDonald’s onto Maple.  Follow Maple westbound past Roselle Road and St. Walters is two blocks further on the left side of the street.
